MANCHESTER UNITED defender Teden Mengi has completed a permanent transfer to Luton Town.
The Hatters have already signed former United star Tahith Chong this summer.
And Mengi will be reunited with his ex-Red Devils pal at the newly-promoted club after penning a long-term deal.
He told United's official website: "From signing for the club that I supported at the age six to playing for them in the Champions League, it has been an incredible journey over the last 15 years.
"Manchester United is a family and I have been lucky enough to be supported by some of the best team-mates and staff possible over the years. It is hard to put into words just how grateful I am to each and every one of them.
"It is tough to leave somewhere that has been such a huge part of my whole life but I am ready.
"Joining Luton Town is an amazing opportunity, it’s time to show everyone what I can do and help the team to be successful in every way possible."
Mengi added to Luton's official site: “I’d been at Manchester United since I was six and been there all my life; I’ve seen people come and go and I was the last of my age group to leave. While it’s sad to leave United, it’s an exciting time.
“I just had to be real with myself and ask what’s going to be best for me. Stay and fight with United or go somewhere else and look for an opportunity. In the end I was honest with myself and took that option.
“Making Luton my home was a no brainer and taking on that challenge as I’ve never lived outside of Manchester is something I’m looking forward to.

“Even before they got promoted the team were doing well. I like the way they play and with five at the back I feel I could fit in very well. After speaking to the manager, I feel as though I’ve got a good chance of making an impression here."
Meanwhile, new boss Rob Edwards declared: “Teden is someone who we have been aware of for a long time – Richie Kyle’s worked with him at the FA in the England age groups.
“He’s a fantastic age and comes with great experience for a young player. He’s had an amazing education at Manchester United and he will help us in that outside centre-half position.
“He’s a fantastic athlete, he’s aggressive, excellent in one-v-ones and uses the ball well.
“But when we spoke to him, he made it clear how much he really wanted this and to be a success here.
“He’s got an excellent future, and we want his future to be here. There’s no quick pressure on him being the ‘main man’ straight way – but it’s great if he does, but there’s no getting away from the fact he is here to compete.”
Luton were keen to add a centre-back to their ranks following heavy defeats to Brighton and Chelsea in their opening two Premier League games.
Mengi previously spent time on loan at Derby and Birmingham but his game time was limited.
Former United defender Axel Tuanzebe could also sign for Luton after leaving Old Trafford on a free this summer.
Tuanzebe has been training with the Hatters although he is also being looked at by fellow Premier League new boys Sheffield United.
Luton are still keen on bringing in more reinforcements before Friday's deadline day having seen a move for Newcastle's Isaac Hayden collapse at the last minute.
The midfielder underwent a medical ahead of a loan switch before the proposed move fell through.
Luton have made 11 signings this season including Prem veterans Tim Krul and Ross Barkley.
But they are still favourites for relegation following their play-off triumph last season.
